Land, sea, light and time are at the heart of the practice of Melbourne artist Jill Kempson.

Kempsons’ art is to reveal the essential nature of her subject, through contemplation of the landscape, and distillation of the particular details of time and place, in search of a deeper, more abiding character of place.

In the artistic tradition of the grand tour, Kempsons’ curiousity spans continents.
