The ceramic works of Melbourne artist Mark Young celebrate a process of creating pottery and sculpture, developed through years of study and studio practice in various disciplines of art and design.

Mark orginally studied under celebrated ceramics artisan Hiroshi Seto, in Mashiko Japan, working at developing maquettes and furthering sculptural ideas. A  later 25 year stint establishing and running a multi- design studio in Melbourne saw a variation of disciplines. However having turned full circle, the studio beckoned, and a passion for the porcelain the wheel and tactility of medium has seen him return to his original love.

Marks thrown and hand-built ceramics are inspired by natural forms of mountain, ocean and shore.
